Block Round Robins
In this version, the starter picks a theme and a standard block size. For example, the theme of hearts in 12" finished blocks could be chosen. Each participant then does a 12" block that must somehow include a heart. Depending on the agreement, 1 or 2 blocks could be made by each person. The drawback to this option is the starter doesn't get a completed top at the end, but a stack of blocks. The upside is the starter can place the blocks, and create more to fill in as needed.
Some layout options include:
| Blocks set straight with sashing. |
|
| Blocks set around a center medallion. The center should be included for the participants to see and get the feel of. |
|
| A more free form setting where the starter fills in the area around the blocks. |
